Our special education student Chai Wei Xiong was honoured at the recent STPM 2008 awards. Deaf and mute from birth, Wei Xiong showed grit and determination to emerge as the best national student in that special category. When he entered Lower Six in MBSSKL, specialist teachers had to accompany to the normal classes to teach him using the sign language. He was against all odds but managed to prove that his disability is not an obstacle to excel. MBSSKL is extremely proud of him and his achievement is also attributable to the dedication and commitment of his special education teachers, especially Ms Cheang and Ms Nur Fatihah.

Over the past four years MBSSKL’s students have been honoured as top national achievers and this year, it is very special – a deaf and mute boy made the school stand out above the rest.
