MBS Boy is country’s third best speller
After being crowned as KL’s best speller, MBS fifth former, Liew Ern Khai fought it out with 13 other state’s best speller in the RHB Spell It Right National Finals on 7 August 2008. The eventual champion, Tee Fu Yuan was unbeatable all the way, with a clean record of no mistakes. Ern Khai fought it out with Kelantan’s Muhammad Na’im Che Rahimi for the runner’s up position in a nail biting finish. He had to fight nerves in the tie breaker but luck was not with him. He mispelled “pusillanimous” and had to settle for the 2nd runner’s up position. He won RM2,000, a trophy and a laptop. MBS was also awarded a trophy, RM2,000 and a laptop for his feat. It was definitely a great improvement from last year’s national finals where Ern Khai lost out in the 2nd round. Go Forward MBS!
