A day all students will look back on with cherished fondness and pangs of nostalgia. 23rd October 2009 dawned bright and clear and the activity was focused in the hall, the venue of the event. A buzz of expectation could be heard among the 5th and 6th Formers for whom the graduation was held in their honour….for, at 7.30 a.m. the VIPs’ arrival was heralded by the staccato beat of the kompangs as the colourful fronds of the bunga manggar became visible.

Tay Shao An Isaac, MBS top student in the 2008 SPM exams managed to secure a scholarship from the Public Services Department to pursue his tertiary education in the field of medicine. After obtaining 12 1A’s in the 2008 SPM, Isaac applied for the scholarship and went through the hospital attachment programme and interview. He was overjoyed when the good news arrived (during his stint in NS) and he thanks God for this wonderful opportunity. Isaac is currently doing his A Levels in INTEC, Shah Alam. Thereafter he will be placed in the International Medical University (IMU) in KL. He will pursue the second part of his degree overseas but the place will be dependent on his results in IMU. According to Isaac, the skills and exposure gained from MBS, the Prefectorial Board and the 1st KL Boys’ Brigade were invaluable in the attainment of this achievement. Go forward MBS!
