Azril Mizam b Azman is a 14-year-old deaf and mute boy studying in the special education stream in MBS. But his disability has not stopped him from being an avid reader. In the recent recent ‘Nadi Ilmu Amalan Membaca’ (NILAM) (The practice of reading – the pulse of knowledge program) he was named the ‘Tokoh NILAM Negeri 2009′ (the State Personality for NILAM 2009) for having read a threshold of a certain number of books and won in a general knowledge quiz. His feat will definitely be an inspiration to many disabled children who have been disadvantaged by various disabilities which have hampered their progress in their education. The school would like to thank his hardworking teachers who have been his constant guidance and support. Without them, Azril would not have come this far. Go Forward MBS!
