ITB 1st Intake Results

Kuala Lumpur: A most exciting interview session resulted in the selection of 11 students as PROBATIONARY IT Brigadiers of MBSSKL here this evening. It was a slow process with the panel deciding to have some fun this time by going hard-core 4 against 1.

Surprisingly, many portray themselves as “good” students of the school. Few wished “Good afternoon” and one even got so blurred he greeted ” Good morning” thrice. And it was a sweltering hot 2 o’clock afternoon. One said, “Oh, I think I will be quite disciplined!” The next moment, he was shot for not having his badge on. It seems like a number of them got so immersed in filling out the application forms that they just had to write “Healthy” on the Allergies column. Here’s a good laugh:

General Meeting (March)

The March ITB General Meeting will convene on 28th March 2011, Monday as the third GM of the term for year 2011.
Dress code : Informal. (In future, formal = blazer + long sleeve, informal = normal wear)
Agenda : Duty, replacements, warnings, constitution updates + oath, probates, CBD, IT Week, etc.
Attendance : Compulsory. Replacement given for members without reasonable excuses.
Time : 2.45 pm
Venue : Multimedia Lab 2
Notice : Bring RM 20 TRUST FUND (10 months x RM 2)

IT Week

Hey guys,

This year’s IT Week actually falls on the 4th of April. And Sports Day (6th April) has to clash with it. So IT week is postponed till May, starting on 3rd May to 6th May.

This year, we have fresh competitions for everyone! The following are the activities and competitions held this year:

3rd May : UM Robotics & MBSSKL Robotics Demonstration

3rd May : Inter-class Powerpoint Presentation

4th May : Inter-school Graphics Design Competition

5th May : (5 vs 5 Dota) Gaming Competition

6th May : Photography Exhibition, Photography Competition

Combined Boards Day (CBD) notification 1

As you guys know, CBD heads for ITB are Barry Fong and Wei Shaun. All of you are to work together to make CBD a success.

Head of Committees for CBD, please attend a meeting on 14th March 2011 at school.

All members, please attend a Combined Boards’ Meeting in Lecture Hall (Dewan Kuliah) on the 21st March 2011.

The fees for CBD is RM 11, compulsory to pay regardless of your attendance on CBD. Please make the payment on 21st March 2011 before the joint meeting.

This year’s theme, Flying Forward Together.

ITB March Intake 2011

The March Intake 2011 for Information Technology Brigade starts on 9th March 2011 to 25th March 2011. All Form 3 and 4 students can apply for membership. The forms can be obtained from Chan Zhi Yi (5 Kensett, 1st floor, Yong Chee Seng Block) and Patrick Cheah (5 Abraham, 3rd floor, Yong Chee Seng Block). An interview session will be held and the date will be announced during assembly.

Changing for the New Year

Welcome to the official webpage of IT Brigade MBSSKL! The webmaster and also your dear president worked hard on New Year’s Eve to accomplish something, that is to transform the old and white IT Brigade webpage into something with a new style to it. Not only the webpage has a new look to it, all the pages and posts are updated and spell-checked along with corrections and editing.

Well, the first thing you definitely will notice is the new custom header! Saw your own faces there? That’s the seminar lunch and the photos are going to be posted very soon. Another thing is the systematic classification of pages into “Board“, “Quickies“, “Tech Info” and “Students’ Info” so that all visitors to the webpage will be able to navigate with ease.

That is, Board members can easily click on “Board” or even faster “Quickies” for latest updates and announcement. Guests may proceed to “Tech Info” to know more about hardware, maintenance and troubleshooting. Student guests may click on “Students’ Info” to know the do’s and don’ts in the IT labs, along with all the information you need to know when using the facilities.

More posts will be coming in and stay tuned.

2011 Start-up

Hey everyone, it’s going to be a new year and I hope everyone will start out fresh and make effort. Be sure not to say no when it’s time for IT week, CBD ORGANIZING, camp, duty, meetings, etc.

Please check with members of ITB from your form which items they have not received (eg tie, monogram) And check who have not even order. ASAP.

Remind everyone that those who DO NOT HAVE complete uniform (eg ANY ITEM MISSING it badge, grey tie, black leather shoe, silver name tag, pants/skirt) SHOULD NOT WEAR itb uniform when school reopens till they receive it.

DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL WITH INCOMPLETE UNIFORM. DON’T EMBARRASS EVERYONE.

GUYS please wear BLACK BELT. Check school regulations for belt buckle size.

I don’t want to see shirts ever untucked again.  I REPEAT, ALL GUYS must wear belt as part of ITB uniform.

GIRLS are reminded that you have to wear black heels during school hours and duty hours. Before/After school you may wear white shoes that you are comfortable with.

1ST WEEK SCHOOL REOPENS NO DUTY 3RD JANUARY 2011 – 7TH JANUARY 2011

BELOW ARE MEETINGS AND AGENDA:

PLEASE MAKE YOURSELVES FREE ON FRIDAY (1st week) 7th JANUARY 2011. General meeting. All must come. If not, you will not have duty days and no comittee, which means you might as well go to teacher and say you want to quit. Bring along trust fund 2011. RM 3 per month for 10 months.

All pay extra RM 5 for MONOGRAM (Blazer badge) on top of the previous paid RM 8 or else you don’t get it; I’ll make it simple: Price increase. Bring around RM 35 for ITB T-shirt. COMPULSORY TO BUY. You’ll get the shirt later.

Those who will be changing into ITB uniform, please return PROBATIONARY ITB tag. Those who do not have complete uniform cannot change and will continue wearing the PROBATIONARY ITB tag till they change, then return it to me.

Please be informed that all duty replacements not done in 2010 will be moved forward to year 2011. Don’t “play snake” with me. Since December holidays are definitely more than 2 weeks for the time given to complete replacement, all members with 3 AND ABOVE number of replacements will be given warning letter. Here, I have not written “a warning letter”. One warning letter is dished out to every 5 consequent replacements not done. In number form, it is 3 offences for 1st letter and 5 offences for 2nd & 3rd letter. I’m being very good as your absence from board meetings in 2010 will not be counted: your new year present.

PMR SPM excuses not allowed. Form 5 and U6 members will retire this year in August. Form 3 members will be allowed study leave 1 week before PMR and the week during PMR. So before the happy moment comes, work hard. Appreciate it~

This year you guys definitely need to grind. You’ll soon find out that you have to stay back on other days once in a while. So guys and girls, keep Mondays and Fridays freeNo excuses.

I will bring this up again in the GM, but just to tell you all, no “yam cha” and “shake legs” anywhere before duty starts and during duty time. You will eat before duty starts. There is no time for you to sit in canteen and chat.

NEW DUTY TIME WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN GM.

ANYONE THAT IS GOOD IN DECORATING/ARTS AND CRAFT/CREATIVE ARTS/ARTS DESIGN? YOU CAN ENTER A NEW COMMITTEE (I need help to name this committee). This is to make sure our IT lab is pleasant to look at. As you can see now, the glass windows and doors are now dirty and the lab needs a new style to it.

EXCO meeting WEDNESDAY (1st week) 5th JANUARY 2011. You don’t come with your mouth shut please, if not we won’t get much ideas. I’ll be doing brainstorming so be idealistic. You might want to start thinking what do we all want for the Board this year.
