English is one of the niche areas (the others being chess and IT) of MBSSKL and the areas being given emphasis (besides improving grades in the exminations) are choral speaking, public speaking, debate, and drama. All the respective teachers have been very active and the students have benefitted greatly from the workshops and courses conducted for them.

The English Panel of MBSSKL is headed by Mrs Yap Kien Ming and assisted by Mrs S Ramani, Ph Khoon Pew Kam, Pn Pauline Rambuyan, Mrs Tay Chong Kiat, Pn Nirmala, Pn Noraini, Mr Yip Chong Wan, Mr Gopala, Pn Wong Ai Lian, Pn Bharathy, and Pn Jay with Mrs Lim Hean Hua as the head of the Bahasa Department.
