One LENS: Look. Engage. Network. Sense.
Global Nomads Group [GNG] and AFS present
Students will explore media and use film or digital stories to share how they can make a difference in the world. By focusing on volunteerism and community engagement as themes in the various phases of their project, they will focus media projects on motivating peers to take an active role in their communities, schools and in the world at large. As a final culminating project, students are asked to create a public service announcement [PSA] using film or digital stories to help increase youth community engagement and ultimately inspire youth to make a difference in the world. One LENS encourages students to create PSAs focused on national resources, poverty, or literacy; however, we also support students to be inspired by local or global issues that they believe would benefit from a PSA
As part of One LENS students must create a final media project. Teachers should use the module activities to not only prepare for the interactive videoconferences; but also, to provide students with the tools and skills that will help them create and produce their media projects.
